I had another great shift last night at Massage Envy (Mopac & 2222). My first client really needed some attention as they are over coming some challenges and working towards some big goals! We really made a connection and they felt great after the session. I must say, I prefer the 80 min sessions rather than the short 50 min hours that normally book.
My second client also booked for 80 mins, however I'm not sure if I helped very much. They were very, I mean very, relaxed from the start. I guess that's how you maintain a tension free lifestyle.
I have some openings for tomorrow Wednesday, Aug 1st from 6p - 10p and Sunday, Aug 5th from 10a - 2p. Just request Jack as your therapist. (Wow can you believe it's August already.) Well, I really feel as of I'm starting to find a grove work at ME. It's still very corporate and the companies goals don't always aline with the therapist's goal... But overall it's a good learning experience. As a matter of fact, I just confirmed some additional training this weekend! And I'm still looking for a prenatal massage class. How do you feel about a male prenatal therapist? Let me know by leaving a comment.
Earlier this afternoon I completed my first shift at Massage Envy. I have to say, school did not prepare me for the pace of working for ME. A fifty minute massage goes by quick. I mean Quick! And when you client is running 10 late, the fifty minute hour gets compressed to a really quick 40 mins. I also found the SOAP notes very challenging. I wish we would have worked more with this during class.
Aside from these two issues, everything else went great! I’m talking mental notes on how I would, change / improve things for when I open my clinic, but until then, ME will be a trove of experience. I would like to know what your experiences with ME have been like. Please leave a comment sharing what you liked or didn’t like at ME. Also, if you never been, why?
This weekend I’ll be in a training class for Seize the Day Chair Massage. I’ll be working for SDCM on an ad hoc basis, filling in when needed. I’ll be tweeting my schedule so you know when and where I’ll be working.
I’m still working at home and on call for massage outside of ME and SDCM. Please feel free to give me a call and schedule an appointment!
